This car barely has 30000 miles and yet when I start it and for several
minutes after starting I am getting a very strong smell of gas. I never
pump the accelarator when starting so I dont think it is flooding.
Otherwise it seems to run fine....why would it smell like gasoline?

I wouldn't be amused if I were you. There is a fuel leak somewhere that
needs attention pronto least your car will go up in flames.

that was an ignorant reply and hope you took it with a grain of salt...

if it smells like that only when you start it....it maybe due to the fact that the computer runs the car rich on purpose for warm up. remember on the old carburated cars you'd pump the gas to set the choke? This is basically the same thing only its all done by the computer, thats why even on the coldest of days it fires right up without a hitch.

on the other hand if it smells like gas all of the time....then the fuel leak is a valid answer...

3 years or 36K miles, which ever comes first...it should be covered if not
over 3 years old.
